I couldn't imagine living without...

These special someone in my life,
I wonder how may I designate them?
Sometimes they erupt as random miracles,
At other times they shine as brightly as a gem.

Religions, skin-colors, castes and creeds,
Are as immaterial as can ever be.
The truth of life is what entices them,
For everyone, that is what is key.

To them, we share our happinesses,
To them, we pour our griefs & pet peeves.
Survival seems a challenge without them,
Just like a tree bereft of its evergreen leaves.

These hearts of gold are a rare find,
But they emerge everywhere thus.
Family isn’t just family anymore,
Because they are the ones who complete us.

The more we gather, the merrier it gets,
Making the world a perfect blend.
I know, for a fact, the whole world thrives,
On this beautiful soul we call - a FRIEND.

My life wouldn't be the same,
If I didn't have this precious gift.
Friendship is a lifelong experience,
So be ready to enjoy this drift.

Along with us, they laugh and cry,
Together, we are, in all walks of life.
A friend is just another family,
One that is always rife.

Relations aren't built by blood alone,
For me, these are the ones that matter.
Without them, life would be a silent journey,
Without them, my heart would shatter.
