To the "Artist"

Hey there! Yes, you.
We need to talk .... right now.
I could call you passionate or charismatic,
But you mean so much than that, go on - take a bow!

Through days of unrelenting hard work,
And nights of utmost dedication.
You made this journey look good in all ways,
And turned it from an interest to a vocation.

Life would have been dull,
A simple routine of ups and downs.
You transformed it with your dreams,
And made my smiles look past the frowns.

Friends mocked and made jokes on me,
But you stood strong and tall.
Looking dignified in every which way,
And ignoring their visions so small.

If what you did was easy,
This wouldn't be such a difficult feat.
You are what kept me alive.
It's all been such a treat.

Today I find happiness,
An unexplainable feeling of relief.
You were, are and will remain an "artist",
This is what keeps me away from grief.

I need no one but the pillars in my life,
Who always encouraged & never let me cave.
Call me nothing else but an artist,
I will carry this love, this passion till the end.... till my grave.

Yours' truly,

February 1, 2015

Looking back at January 2015

I have to say a huge "Thank You" to Sanch for making me blog today. I am a regular reader of her blog so when I noticed her monthly round-up post and the linky after it, I had this sudden urge to just write and blog about the past month.

Thanks Sanch ! I owe you one. :)

Although I have been lazy enough to put away blogging and reviving this space for quite some time, I think I have procrastinated a lot now that I am bored with it. Let's look ahead at February with a bright smile and continue to work on our goals/dreams/plans et al.

But first, a look at the past month. 2015 started on a quiet yet powerful note. I began the year with a lot of dreams and aspirations in my mind hopeful of turning them into reality this year. And it has been good so far.

I returned to performing on stage in September last year. However, it was the dance opportunities on New Years' Eve that truly brought peace to my aching mind and filled up a large void in my heart.

After a lot of meticulous planning, 10 days into 2015, I was able to take a small step in beginning my own dance institution here in New Jersey along with launching my website. Yes, it feels good to be working again especially doing something I have loved since I was a child. LP and the whole family have been very supportive during this phase and I feel blessed :)

In other news, my baby girl is growing up so fast that I feel scared to blink and miss her naughtiness. She's keeping my hands full and ensuring I remain in shape thanks to the extra running around ;)

I made a conscious decision to eat and stay healthy in 2015 and thus began yet another love - "Salads". I find myself experimenting with new ingredients and recipes to make dinner time interesting. Also love the fact that LP is very much excited now that I have decided to join him by eating fresh, natural diets.

Gym workouts have been fulfilling and it keeps me energized throughout the day. :)

Reading has taken a slight backseat so I am behind my monthly goal.

Career wise I have been contemplating a lot of things lately (even considering a Master's in Fine Arts) but they are still in flux. Hope to bring clarity and closure on these items in the coming months.

Other than that, this month was good where in I had a fair amount of catching up with friends, dine-outs and also spending quality time at home snuggled on my comfy couch with a hot cup of coffee while the blizzard raged in New York / New Jersey areas earlier last week.

Hoping January went great for all of you too ! :)

Yours' truly,
